Former Nielsen Entertainment President, Howard Appelbaum Joins Streamlytics as a Strategic Advisor
Streamlytics, a next-generation data intelligence ecosystem with insight into consumer consumption data across today’s most popular media and entertainment platforms, is extremely excited to announce that veteran media and entertainment executive Howard Appelbaum, former President of Billboard and, Nielsen Entertainment, will be joining the company as a strategic advisor.
Appelbaum will share his wealth of experience in growing some of the most influential media and entertainment brands for the last two decades—including developing Billboard into a leading music brand—with the data platform’s leadership team.
From generating multiple revenue streams as an executive at Billboard to quintupling revenue and profitability within five years while expanding global reach to 30 countries as President of Nielsen Entertainment, Appelbaum has developed a strong record of increasing profitability, creating and scaling new business verticals, expanding globally, improving customer impact, and facilitating innovation.
Having Howard involved with Streamlytics is a huge win for both the company and our shareholders. His leadership in the entertainment industry, in particular his experience growing data businesses from the ground up at companies like Nielsen—where he transformed the Entertainment business into the global leader for data and analytics for Music, Sports, Games, eSports, and Books—will be a valuable asset to the company,
shared Angela Benton, Streamlytics Founder and CEO. “We couldn’t be more excited to have Howard involved.”
Now an entrepreneur and angel investor in entertainment, data, and media businesses, Appelbaum will work closely with Streamlytics executives, providing his expertise on the intersection of media and entertainment and data and technology to build the next generation of data intelligence through Streamlytics suite of products that will empower media and entertainment leaders everywhere with ethically sourced competitive intelligence into what people are actually streaming across various platforms.
“I am excited to join Angela and the amazing Streamlytics team as an advisor,” said Appelbaum about working with the Streamlytics team.
Streamlytics is on the cutting-edge of ethically collecting and aggregating the most comprehensive and critical consumer streaming data, and providing critical actionable insights to clients in media, entertainment, and finance. The executive team’s focus and knowledge of diverse audiences make Streamlytics an essential resource for sales, marketing, and business development efforts.
Appelbaum’s appointment follows growing consumer adoption of Streamlytics’ consumer-facing Clture app that enables consumers to gain greater control over their data and also monetize it.
The announcement also comes at a time when there’s a huge spotlight shining on consumer data privacy amid governmental regulation and consumer’s mistrust of big tech for abusing their personal data. Also, given the ongoing battle with ever-increasing streaming services vying for consumer’s subscription dollars and attention—the lack of transparency into exactly what information these platforms are amassing about consumers has become a major concern.
Streamlytics plays a pivotal role in redefining the relationship that consumers have with their consumption data.
